Marketing Associate / Copywriter

The Role:

As Marketing Associate / Copywriter, you will be responsible for increasing market awareness of Thasos through the creation and distribution of long-form white papers, short-form blog posts, infographics, social media materials and other types of content. An ideal candidate has experience in executing B2B inbound marketing strategies in support of lead generation and brand awareness, has the multimedia and copywriting skills to create appropriate content for each distribution channel (website, blog, white papers, PR, social media, etc.) as well as marketing collateral for events, presentations and the sales team. You will work closely with the product development and sales teams to coordinate marketing campaigns and create compelling content. You will also develop and maintain Thasos’ website as necessary. A strong copywriting or journalism background is highly preferred.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Journalism, Communications or a related field
  • 2 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in B2B marketing
  • Experience in the financial services or technology sector. Basic domain knowledge about financial services is highly preferred
  • Excellent writing and communication skills required
  • “Web fluency”: understanding of digital marketing best practices, principles of SEO, HTML/CSS
  • Skilled Microsoft Office user; Adobe Creative Suite a bonus. Can create visually appealing layouts and manipulate basic graphics

Director, Corporate and Commercial Real Estate Sales

New York, NY

The Role:

As Director of Corporate and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Sales at Thasos, you will develop and execute the Company’s go-to-market strategy. You will quickly attain expert-level knowledge of mobile phone location data, our platform/technology, our products, our customers, and other sources of “alternative” data. You will lead all aspects of the sales cycle, including lead generation, product-customer fit, product pricing, and contract negotiation.

Your go-to-market strategy will evaluate many variables, including resources for pre-sales support, priority customers, closing probability, and product fit, in an effort to minimize non-sales resource expenditures while maximizing revenue.

You will interface with customers directly pre- and post-sale, continuously assess product alignment with customer requirements, and report detailed observations/customer feedback to propel the evolution of our product portfolio.

You will lead a sales team, define, measure, and track performance metrics for your sales strategy, and regularly report on performance assessments and forecasts.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree; MBA or other graduate degree is highly preferred
  • Deep understanding of data products, which may include data feeds, APIs, and analytics platforms; you understand data products must often be validated and you can articulate our value proposition in a way that establishes credibility
  • 5+ years of experience selling data products or services in to corporates and CRE companies; direct interaction with CRE companies is strongly preferred
  • Strong network of trust-based relationships with senior executives

Project Manager

The Role:

As a Project Manager at Thasos, you will help manage a broad spectrum of initiatives and cross-functional processes on both the technology and business side of the company. You will drive the execution of high-level projects and ensure the smooth operation of existing processes.

You will define, measure, and track performance metrics related to existing business processes, ad hoc projects, and a wide range of customer requirements. You will monitor progress, identify bottlenecks and other areas of weakness, and recommend solutions or establish new processes.

You will interface directly with senior management and liaise between business, product, research, and engineering teams. You will communicate proactively with all teams, including providing progress updates and reports at regular intervals.

By working closely with teams in all areas of our business, you will obtain an expert-level understanding of our platform, products, customers, and one of the most powerful sources of “alternative data” available today.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 5+ years of experience; work related to technical/data/financial products and services is highly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Big Data Architect

The Role:

As a Big Data Architect you will be responsible for building and maintaining systems used to process and analyze terabytes of geolocation data every day. You will work alongside top scientists and analysts in the field to implement cutting edge machine learning algorithms on the cloud and quickly and efficiently run the analyses that are the backbone of our data products.

Requirements:

  • Expertise with Hadoop, distributed file systems and large scale data sets
  • 2+ years experience in production data mining & processing systems

  • Strong skills with Python, Java, AWS (or other Cloud-based services), and either Matlab or R

Quantitative Researcher

The Role:

As a Quantitative Researcher, you will solve complex statistical problems to clean and normalize raw data from a wide variety of data sources never before available. You will build robust models to measure real-time fundamental metrics for any company, public or private, in any industry. You will validate such metrics against our proprietary database of ground truth and refine predictive models to minimize out-of-sample forecasting error. You will work on these and other challenging problems for some of the largest hedge funds and public companies in the world.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Master’s degree and 3+ years of experience applying statistical models to solve problems in data analytics; PhD in a technical field is highly preferred
  • 2+ years of programming experience; Python is highly preferred
  • Strong quantitative skills with advanced training in statistics, numerical analysis, machine learning, or related fields
  • Knowledge of financial markets or real estate is highly preferred, but not required
  • Experience with big data analytics and proficiency in Apache Spark is highly preferred
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills with mature judgment
  • You view “cleaning” data as a noble calling
  • You understand the difference between data and information

As Software Engineer you will help develop large-scale distributed systems to convert our 5TB/day data streams into actionable investment information. You will also design and implement software tools to assist with analytical research. You’ll be working alongside top data scientists to solve challenging problems for some of the largest hedge funds and public companies in the world.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of professional experience in a commercial software environment
  • Experience with big data frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, and MapReduce is highly preferred
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (S3, EC2, EMR, Kinesis, etc.) is highly preferred
