Director, Hedge Fund Sales

The Role:

As Director of Hedge Fund Sales at Thasos, you will develop and execute the Company’s go-to-market strategy. You will quickly attain expert-level knowledge of mobile phone location data, our platform/technology, our products, our customers, and other sources of “alternative” data. You will lead all aspects of the sales cycle, including lead generation, product-customer fit, product pricing, and contract negotiation.

Your go-to-market strategy will evaluate many variables, including resources for pre-sales support, priority customers, closing probability, and product fit, in an effort to minimize non-sales resource expenditures while maximizing revenue.

You will interface with customers directly pre- and post-sale, continuously assess product alignment with customer requirements, and report detailed observations/customer feedback to propel the evolution of our product portfolio.

You will lead a sales team, define, measure, and track performance metrics for your sales strategy, and regularly report on performance assessments and forecasts.

Requirements:

  •  Undergraduate degree; MBA or other graduate degree is highly preferred
  •  Deep understanding of data products, which may include data feeds, APIs, and analytics platforms; you understand data products must often be validated and you can articulate our value proposition in a way that establishes credibility
  • 5+ years of experience selling data products or services in the financial services industry; direct interaction with hedge funds is strongly preferred
  • Strong network of trust-based relationships with senior executives in the financial services industry

Director, Corporate and Commercial Real Estate Sales

The Role:

As Director of Corporate and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Sales at Thasos, you will develop and execute the Company’s go-to-market strategy. Senior Product Manager

New York, NY

The Role:

As a Senior Product Manager at Thasos, you will design, develop, validate, and prioritize alpha signals, new features, and high-value bespoke projects. You will be responsible for data-driven idea generation, rapid prototyping, and managing a short- and long-term product roadmap for multiple industry verticals. To operate efficiently, you will work closely with cross functional teams of engineers and PhD data scientists in addition to leveraging our existing data analytics platform and code base and writing your own code where necessary or efficient.

The product team at Thasos also interfaces directly with portfolio managers and data scientists at large hedge funds to enhance our understanding of existing and intended data usage, trading strategies, and what existing or new products are most appropriate for specific clients. You will also work with high-level industry professionals in commercial real estate and retail. Information gathered through this function feeds back into the product development cycle described above and enhances client satisfaction.

You will also define, measure, and track performance metrics for new and existing products and research & development initiatives. You will use information gathered from this function to create documentation and materials that make understanding and using our products and signals easy and efficient for a broad range of clients across multiple industries.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree, including coursework in a quantitative field; MBA or other graduate degree is highly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying software, data, or other scalable products or services
  • Scripting experience; Python is preferred
  • Knowledge of financial markets or commercial real estate is highly preferred, but not required
  • You appreciate the difference between data and information
  • You know why no one ever shows a bad backtest

Project Manager

The Role:

As a Project Manager at Thasos, you will help manage a broad spectrum of initiatives and cross-functional processes on both the technology and business side of the company. You will drive the execution of high-level projects and ensure the smooth operation of existing processes.

You will define, measure, and track performance metrics related to existing business processes, ad hoc projects, and a wide range of customer requirements. You will monitor progress, identify bottlenecks and other areas of weakness, and recommend solutions or establish new processes.

You will interface directly with senior management and liaise between business, product, research, and engineering teams. You will communicate proactively with all teams, including providing progress updates and reports at regular intervals.

By working closely with teams in all areas of our business, you will obtain an expert-level understanding of our platform, products, customers, and one of the most powerful sources of “alternative data” available today.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 5+ years of experience; work related to technical products and services is highly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically while executing on multiple projects simultaneously

Big Data Architect

The Role:

As a Big Data Architect you will be responsible for building and maintaining systems used to process and analyze terabytes of geolocation data every day. You will work alongside top scientists and analysts in the field to implement cutting edge machine learning algorithms on the cloud and quickly and efficiently run the analyses that are the backbone of our data products.

Requirements:

  • Expertise with Hadoop, distributed file systems and large scale data sets
  • 2+ years experience in production data mining & processing systems
  • Strong Linux skills
  • Strong skills with Python, Java, AWS (or other Cloud-based services), and either Matlab or R

Quantitative Researcher

The Role:

As a Quantitative Researcher, you will be involved in improving the core technology of Thasos. You will develop algorithms and methods to analyze large quantities of location data and reduce noise to extract unique insights. You will work collaboratively with both the engineering and data science teams to improve modules for data processing and trading analysis. Ph.D. encouraged and exceptional mathematical modeling track record a must.

Requirements:

  • M.S. degree in quantitative field (math, physics, nuclear science, engineering or related field)
  • 5 years related experience – fine to have gained during graduate degree
  • Experience working with large scale datasets

The Role:

As a Sales Engineer you will be working directly with clients to provide education and support throughout the sales process. You will work directly with our data sets to develop sales materials and demonstrations to effectively communicate the value our products can provide.
